Customer call out to a property where the lighting circuit kept tripping. A few tests to help narrow down the faults location and found this inadequite cable joint burnt out hidden in the loft! Loose wires cause fires!  

This tripping fault turned out to be an external light fitting that had failed its IP rating! 

Loose wires cause fires...but so can over tightening terminals! It can damage components like this MCB creating high resistance and heat build up

An inexperienced tradesmen had a go at connecting up a new dimmer module and ended up connecting the Line and Neutral conductors together! His job ended with a Bang! 

Subtle but deadly! A broken live pin wedged in a socket. With the switch on it is live and could have delivered a fatal shock.

A hard one to spot, but the CPCs (Earth conductors) were terminated in separate terminals in a hidden JB in a glamping pod resulting with metal faced sockets with no earthing. Found and located with the circuit tracer.

Burnt out plug had to be prised off the socket. This is result of high load heater running continuously.

A smashed IP rated switch in a livestock shed exposing live terminals and compromsing IP rating. Judging by the dust it had been like this some time.
